Hi, I’m Kuda. I share my journey from a math student in Zimbabwe to an Actuarial Analyst in the US. My mission is to show you that with grit and numbers, anything is possible.

The actuarial path is difficult, especially when you are the first in your community to walk it. I started ActuaryKuda to document the "reality" of this career—not just exams, but visas, culture shocks, and triumphs.
"Ubuntu" means "I am because we are." My goal is to build a bridge for students in Africa and underrepresented communities everywhere, proving that success in this field is within reach.

A timeline of risks taken, exams passed, and lessons learned along the way.
Growing up in Zimbabwe, mathematics was more than a subject—it was a universal language. I loved the certainty of numbers in an uncertain world. I spent hours solving problems, finding comfort in logic. Yet, the path to becoming an actuary felt shrouded in mystery. Resources were scarce, internet access was limited, but the dream was vivid. I knew that to achieve this, I would have to go beyond what was immediately available to me.

Leaving home was a leap of faith. Landing in the US meant navigating a new culture, financial pressures, and the daunting visa process. It wasn't just about studying; it was about survival and adaptation. I faced the bitter cold of the Midwest, the challenge of making new friends, and the pressure of exams. I failed exams, faced rejections, but found resilience I didn't know I had. Each setback was a lesson in perseverance.

Today, I work as an Actuarial Analyst, solving complex problems and modeling future risks. But my work doesn't stop at the desk. Through ActuaryKuda, I'm documenting the blueprint for the next generation. "I am because we are"—my success is only meaningful if it opens doors for you. I am committed to mentoring students, sharing resources, and building a community where everyone can thrive.
